We were thrilled to welcome author Sam Sedgman to Sulby as part of the Manx LitFest. Sam has authored some wonderful books over the years, including the super-popular 'Adventures on Trains' series! During his visit, Sam captivated our children with engaging storytelling and insights into his creative process. He shared his journey as a writer and explained the inspiration behind his new book, 'The Clockwork Conspiracy', sparking the pupils' curiosity about the writing process. Sam encouraged them to explore their own imaginations and harness their interests, urging them to express their ideas through writing. The interactive session included discussions about his books, where pupils had the opportunity to ask questions and even participate in a fun experiment about time, tying into the themes of his new book. Sam's visit not only inspired a love for literature but also reinforced our commitment to fostering a vibrant reading and writing culture within our school community. This was a terrific visit, leaving our pupils even more excited about reading and writing!
