Just look at this wonderful writing from our Year 1 children! They're making great progress through their current project 'Bright Lights, Big City', which has as its focus England's capital city, London - and who better to show them around than Paddington Bear! This topic began with a mysterious delivery; a suitcase full of storybooks and a letter to the Year 1 children. All soon became clear as the children opened the letter and found it was from Paddington himself. It has been a treat to see how the children have based much of their learning around these wonderful stories, including this terrific descriptive writing that you can see in the pictures - and of course it happens to mean they have reached a key curriculum objective - to write a sentence or sequence of sentences for a given purpose! That's great learning, and lots of fun too! Very well done Year 1!
