Our Year 6 pupils have been fully immersed in their class novel, Holes by Louis Sachar, and have produced a brilliant collection of letters written from the perspective of Stanley Yelnats during his time at Camp Green Lake. After exploring the themes, characters and challenges within the story, the children wrote in role to convey Stanley’s thoughts, worries and hopes as he adjusts to life in the harsh desert environment. Their letters show impressive depth, empathy and imagination, with rich descriptions and carefully crafted language that bring Stanley’s experiences vividly to life. This work demonstrates not only their strong understanding of the text, but also their growing confidence as thoughtful, expressive writers. Well done, Year 6, fantastic work!
