Children in our Reception class leave their classroom through the rear door and are collected at the railings by their outdoor play area. Children in Years 1 and 2 leave school through the Infant door at 3:30pm, where teachers will see them safely to their parents or carers. If children in Year 1 or 2 have brothers or sisters in Reception then they are able to leave through the Reception classroom.
Parents are welcome to use the Infant playground after school, but do please note that there may be clubs or other activities taking place in the area. All children must be supervised during this time and children are reminded to be responsible and respectful of the school environment.
Children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3,4,5 and 6) leave school through the Junior door. Children in these classes are advised to wait by the railings for collection by their parents or carers. We strongly recommend that all children are met on the school side of the car park and are always accompanied across the car park by an adult.
If a child is not collected on time they should make their way back into the school and advise a member of staff who will assist them - for example, by calling their parents. If you are going to be late to collect your child(ren), it is useful if you can let the school know in advance.
If you are happy for your child to leave the school unaccompanied and make their own way home, we do require written permission from you, and we distribute a form for this during the first week of school.
