We do provide home learning activities for children to support learning undertaken in school and also to help develop a good home and school partnership. For the younger children the activity will often be maths and literacy, daily reading, word lists or number bond practice. As children move through the school the amount and complexity of home learning increases to around an hour a week or up to two hours in Year 6. Class teachers will provide guidance on how long a task is expected to last but if your child has any difficulties, or family circumstances mean a task is missed, please let your child’s teacher know. We have found supported activities at home, particularly reading related activities, enhance children’s understanding and progress.
