At Sulby School, we are committed to providing a rich, broad and engaging curriculum for all of our pupils. We base our programs of study on the Cornerstones Curriculum, a dynamic and engaging framework designed to foster a love of learning in our pupils. The Cornerstones Curriculum is built on the principles of creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration, ensuring that every child’s individual needs are met while providing a broad and balanced educational experience. By integrating various subjects and themes, we create meaningful connections that help pupils see the relevance of their learning in the real world. This approach not only enhances their understanding but also encourages them to explore their interests and develop their unique talents.

The key benefits of the Cornerstones Curriculum are evident in the way it promotes holistic development. Pupils engage in hands-on projects that stimulate their curiosity and creativity, allowing them to take ownership of their learning. The curriculum is designed to be adaptable, ensuring that it meets the diverse needs of our learners, while also aligning with national curriculum standards. By fostering a nurturing environment where children can collaborate and communicate, we prepare them not only for academic success but also for life beyond the classroom. At Sulby, we believe that the Cornerstones Curriculum empowers our pupils to grow into confident, well-rounded individuals ready to embrace the challenges of the future.

Alongside this, we provide a full PSHE curriculum, using the Kapow! scheme of learning. The Kapow! PSHE curriculum offers a comprehensive and engaging framework that empowers pupils to develop essential life skills and emotional intelligence. By covering a wide range of topics, including relationships, health, and personal safety, the curriculum fosters critical thinking and encourages pupils to reflect on their values and beliefs. Its interactive and creative approach not only enhances pupils' understanding of important social issues but also promotes resilience and well-being. Through practical activities and discussions, pupils learn to navigate challenges, build positive relationships, and make informed decisions, equipping them with the tools they need to thrive both in school and in their future lives.

We are also determined to make the most of our beautiful surroundings here at Sulby, so we have also created a complete Outdoors Curriculum for our children. Our well-planned and purposeful Outdoors Curriculum provides our pupils with invaluable opportunities to engage with nature, develop essential life skills, and enhance their physical and mental well-being. Through outdoor learning experiences, pupils can explore their environment, fostering curiosity and a sense of adventure while promoting teamwork and collaboration. The curriculum encourages active participation, which not only boosts physical fitness but also enhances cognitive development and creativity. Additionally, outdoor learning helps pupils build resilience and confidence as they face challenges in a natural setting, equipping them with skills that are transferable to various aspects of their lives. Overall, an effective Outdoors Curriculum enriches the educational experience, making learning more engaging and relevant.
